Think About It

Love is one of five common threads that help us understand the traits one finds in 1 Corinthians 13 -- being kind, being patient, not being proud, not being rude, not being easily angered. -Dr. Ron Gannett

THE HOLY SPIRIT AND PERSONAL WITNESSING

Holy Spirit Series Part 5 of 6

Bible Study with Alden Gannett

Week of May 26 to June 1, 2013

God has a program for all those who recognize Him as creator God and author of redemption, love, forgiveness, liberty and grace.  That program is the reason Christianity has reached around the world and introduced people to salvation full and free.  The command to witness has been given to us by Jesus in what we call the Great Commission.  However, we are not responsible for the results of our witness.  That is the role of the Holy Spirit.  It is the Holy Spirit that takes our love, concern and words and uses them in the life of the one being witnessed to create thought, questioning and conviction in the heart of a seeking person.  We are only to “tell” of what Jesus Christ means to us personally.  The Holy Spirit will do the rest.

Witnessing must be natural and a part of our normal everyday life.  The best witness we can offer is how we conduct our daily living before others, but there are times when we will be given opportunity for a direct witness to someone’s seeking life.  We don’t “go witnessing”.  We are witnessing anytime someone is watching and they know we represent our Lord Jesus Christ.

This lesson, number five in a series of six lessons on the person and work of the Holy Spirit, our source of victory in the Christian life.  Dr. Gannett always had the heart of an expositor, explaining God’s Word and helping others make personal practical application of biblical truth to their everyday life

Dr. Alden Gannett is now with the Lord after having “finished his course” -- and finished it well”.  As “stewards of words”, we’ve preserved and archived his teachings of the unchangeable Gospel to share and instruct the next generation.  This is why his teaching ministry, through broadcast and Internet, continues after it’s beginning in 1960 – 53 year’s ago.
